Just Started Prozac And I Need Some Help =( Posted: 08-06-07 12:08pm
hey i'm new here, i hope someone can help
me, i didn't have much luck on other
forums! I will just give you a bit of
background information. I'm 19, male from
England and about a year ago i started
getting nausious all the time and having
this sort of gnawing feeling in my
stomach, sometimes migrains too. So i had
to pull out of college, i just couldn't
handle struggling into class and back
every day trying not to be sick. I had
like EVERY test done, but they all came
back negative, so they finally decided it
was anxiety. By this point i didn't dare
leave the house, i COULD NOT be in a
situation i couldn't get out of easily
without getting intense nausea and
feelings of panic.
So now they have put me on Prozac, and i
took my 4th pill today. My doctor said it
would take 4 weeks to start working, and a
friend of mine who went through the same
said that often anxiety gets worse on the
first few days on prozac while you
adjust.
The thing is my nausea has gone WILD - i
couldn't sleep last night because i had to
keep running to the bathroom, and then
when i finally did get to sleep (in a
sitting up position) i woke up at 4am and
had to go sit in the bathroom for 20mins,
i swear i have NEVER felt that sick. I
don't know whether the nausea is a syptom
of Prozac and my body just can't tolerate
the drug, or if this is the increase in
anxiety as i adjust to the drug. Does any
of this sound familiar to anyone? I'm
driving myself crazy thinking about it and
worrying that if i can't tolerate prozac
that i will NEVER find a drug that works.
Sorry for the rant, i just can't stop
worrying about it. thanks for reading!
it could be either or, most
antidepressants cause nausea and stomach
upset amongs other things, do you have a
follow up with yuor dr in a month, usually
most drs check in aftera month to see how
the med is doing cuz if your still getting
bad side affects they can recomment a
different medication for you

Have your doctor check you for
helicobacter pylori. If you have not had
this test already, the symptoms you gave.
nausea and stomach gnawing are all too
familiar. I have been on several different
types of antidipressants, but if I recall,
the only thing Porzac did for me was
constipate me........ Please, ask your
doctor if you have not already been
tested, this can be eliminated with
antibiotics, sure beats taking prozac for
something other than anxiety! Just a
thought!
