Children I mean, individually and on the whole.
Is there even any such thing?
Alot of problems are caused by there being to many people ya know.
So what is your opinion?

i was watching this show on TLC the other day adn this family had
16 kids ranging from newborn to 17rys. and 2 sets of twins
it was amazing.. i didn't think people still had that many kids...
i think thats a little over the top tho...

and then these people had twins then sextuplets...
that was pretty amazing too...

A lot of people believe 2 kids maximum because then you are only replacing yourself and your partner, so you arent contributing to the over population of our planet...just something I read recently.

I think its a personal choice upto each couple to decide how many they can provide for financially, have enough time and energy for, afford a big enough home for and all those types of things. Otherwise I dont think its right to plan a baby. There are pros and cons for both small and large families, do what you feel is right for your personal situation I guess.

i saw a commercial about the duggars, the ones who have 17 children. i think it's odd. i feel bad for their other children because they are being deprived, at least that's how i feel. they probably don't feel that way because that's how they've grown up. after another one is born they get more and more buddies, and they're home schooled and have to wear these dresses that are ugly and old looking that their mom makes them. i just think it's sad, i guess if they can afford it then, hey, but i feel bad for their other children.

i agree with you terra
before they built their new house..
they were living in a 3bedroom rental
....
i personally don't see how ANYONE could afford 17 kids..
unless of course, you are Bill Gates

i think if youve got the money and space and time to care for kids then you should have how ever many you feel

however 17 is alot
my dad had 11 brothers and sisters and none of them were deprived, thier parents loved them just as equal

As long as you are emotionaly and financialy able to suport said children then there should be no limits as to how many you have . you are the one feeding clothing and caring for them as long as you have the resources thats all that matters

I have seen very large families do wonderfully. I went to school with a family of 13 kids. All well mannered, kind, musical, intelligent, athletic, etc. I don't think thier case is the normal way things go. Personally, I think no more than two children due to population issues.

There are many layers to this. If you can care and love all of them... have 16.

But the ethically correct way to go for our planet and for our species is far lower... like 2 or 3.

I think that you should be able to have as many as you can adequately provide for. I personally don't see myself having more than 3. It's all a matter of choosing responsibly.

I agree. As an overall theres too many people in exsistance. but as a family it's a totally personal choice, thats should be based on time, engergy, finances, ect.

After 4 children it becomes a danger to your health apparently, my friends mother has 5 children and as a direct result of that according to her doctor her uterus has collapsed and she has to have surgery and have it removed. Apparently that's quite common.

I think Mrs. Duggar had a hard time finding a doctor that would let her deliver naturally. They do have such a loving and supportive family. She went to The Salvation Army once a year and did a lot of clothes shopping. She also made her kids clothes. You have to figure they probably make a bit of money being on TLC.

I remember watching it when I was pregnant thinking that woman is NUTS!!!!!!

I think if you can love and take care of them emotionally and financially have as many as you want.
