Does anyone know how to tell the difference between anal polp, anal fissure and anal hemorroid. I have had bleeding symptoms for years and I have been too scared to see the dr.

Never be afraid to see a Doc.. It might save your life.. Tell me is the bleeding a red color? or Dark.. and is it after exercising. or a difficult bowel movement?

I had bleeding it was red and it usually happened after I exercised. But because my father died of colon cancer ( because he didn't go to the doctor) I had a colonoscopy. and everything was fine. And by the way like most people think, a colonoscopy DOES NOT HURT. I has a small hemorrhoid, and that was where the bleeding was coming from..

I can not explain the difference of the anal polyp anal fissure and anal hemorrhoids. But I do know if you have a polyp, it can bleed. But it does need to be removed because it can go into cancer.
Regardless , you need to find out why you are bleeding.. I'm sure it is nothing. But get it checked out so you can stop worrying..

It is bright red blood, and only a little and only once in a while. I've had 2 babies and it never happened while I was pregnant. Just every once in a while it does happen. I am so embarrased to say this, but it feels like there is a small lump coming out of my butt- it gets iritated when I have diarhea. You can actually feel it and see it. I never thought about a hemorrhoid before, but I found this site and the symptoms sound like mine. Do hemorroids come and go after long periods of time? Do they last for years? Thank you so much for responding. This is the first time I have ever said this to anyone and I really need some help.

Yeah it sounds like a hemrroid to me and they can come and go.. I never had children. But I have a small on the flares up now and then. If the blood is bright red. it sounds like it is a hemmroid.. Dark color is usually something enteral, and can be more dangerous. I would go to the doc.. You have had children so you know it is no big deal to be looked at! Go and get some peace of mind.. They can tell you just what to do far better than I can.. But to me.. by what you say it sounds like a hemroid

Don't be scared.. when I went to the doc and had a colonoscopy. I thought I would come out with a colostomy bag like my dad did, and he died 6 months later.. and I had nothing wrong.. just a little hemorrhoid.. and I am 100% sure that is all you have to.. Just go and then you won't be scared anymore. and if it is something serious ( I don't think it is) then it can be removed and you will be fine.. I have a friend who is 33 and she had blood.. but it was dark and they did a colonoscopy on her and she had cancer advanced cancer, and they got it all and she is fine.. Just had her first baby 4 months ago.. so just go! Please.. you will be glad you did. Because I know he is going to tell you it is just a hemorrhoid.. But if you are over 50 or have a family history of colon cancer you need to have a colonoscopy.

Of course you're right. I'm 38 and I have no health issues at all and no family history of health problems. I know this sounds so stupid but what kind of dr. should I even see?
