my poor babies have both got a really tickly cough. last night they were coughing on and off and then at about midnight Logan got hysterical cause he kept trying to sleep and couldn't. I brought him into bed with me and then Layla started crying. So I had them both in bed with me but logan was beside himself. he kept wanting to be nursed to sleep but then he would wake up coughing again.

i managed to get layla back to sleep but logan was having real problems. he was crying so much and throwing himself around the bed. he didn't know what to do with himself. i ended up taking him into the living room at 1am and putting the cartoon network on for him.

i kept asking him to take a drink of water but he was refusing. this went on for ages and i was close to tears cause i hated seeing him ill. at about 2am i finally managed to settle him into his cot. then i couldn't sleep until 3.30 cause i was worried about them.

then at 5 layla had a coughing fit again for an hour and we all woke up at 7. needless to say i am exhausted. we're not going to leave the house today. i'm going to sit in my p.j's and put the kids in comfy clothes and we're just going to play in their toy room.

sorry for the long post. thanks for reading though Smile

Can you call your Dr. or talk to your pharmacist and maybe get something over the counter to help them kind of get over it, my folks used to give us whiskey and honey when we were youngsters, I am not saying that it is a good idea, you might want to talk to someone about getting them something. I am sorry that your kids are sick, it used to upset me when my kids were coughing and sick too! Hope it is not too serious, of course it always seems like it is when your little one's aren't feeling well! Hope you can get some rest and don't get sick too!

my mum got them some cough medicine and i gave it to them just before bed. logan went straight to sleep at 8pm with no problems but layla thought she could stay up.

i was so exhausted and it got to the point at 10pm where i was almost falling to sleep on the chair so i did the supernanny thing of putting her to bed loads of times. she kept getting up and coming into the living room and i kept putting her back to bed. she was sobbing and i felt like giving in but i knew she was tired. the 7th time i did it she stayed in bed and slept.

ugh sometimes being a mum is hard Sad
