I Need Help About Pill Asap
Posted: 08-05-07 20:25pm

I am a 28 year old female

I have been taking Ortho Tricyclen's generic version Sprintec for over a year. During this pill pack I had some spotting which worried me on the second week of the 28 day pack. I thought I had not missed any pills so I figured I was okay.

However on Saturday when I was due to take my last active blue pill I realized that I had missed a pill some time during the cycle. I am not sure when though. So I just took the extra pill on that Saturday which meant two pills.

Me and my boyfriend have had unprotected sex during this time and he always withdraws before ejaculation. Do I have anything to worry about in regards to pregancy.

Furthmore we are going on vacation so I started my next active pack after the end of this one in order to skip my period. Should I use extra forms or barrier protection at this point since I missed that one pill. Some sites say you must wait seven days to catch up? I am also going to take a Pregnancy test this Monday which would be one day before a possible missed periods is this ok? Thank you for your help!

No, I think you're safe. One missed pill is normally nothing to be concerned about. A warning though: if this is your first attempt at skipping your period, you may end up not skipping, and instead just spot all month!

No I wouldn't worry- the time for using backup has probably passed anyway. You'll probably be fine.

About the pregnancy test- they are different, you will have to read the instructions on the test to know when you can take it. The longer you wait, the more accurate it is. But I wouldn't worry too much.
