hi,
I had been struggling with weight all my 20 years of life but have lost all my bad weight. 12 is my dear the perfect age to start because you loose or gain very easily at this age. Ill recommend you rather than creating a goal for weight loss you should focus first on feeling healthy from inside. Ill give you a list of things to do and you'll automatically reduce extra weight and will maintain a healthy body inside and outside.
Things you need to do:
1. drink 3 liters of cold water (that help in weight loss quickly, scientifically proved)
2. workout 4 or 5 times a week not more than that because body needs time to rest.
In your workout do 20 to 30 minute cardio (brisk walk, or cycling or any other form of cardio) you can than mix and match it with any other exercises for specific body parts like for example if you have got love handles and do exercises for that one day, do push up other day. but not all of them on one day. Remember cardio is the key to lose weight.
3. keep one cheat day; the day when you can eat any food of your choice but only in one meal of the day and keep the portion limited as well. It doesn't mean eating a whole pizza only bcoz its the cheat day lol .
4. Food: eat good proteins like chicken and fish but not fried. Grill is always the best healthy option but please add greens (broccoli, beans etc with it- very important)
5. eat fruits once or twice a day
6. eat at least 5 times a day but small portions this will increase you metabolism and you'll loose extra
pounds. Ill give you an example of one of my daily meal plans.
Meal 1 : cup of tea with skimmed milk, one slice of whole wheat bread with a very thin layer of low fat cheese
meal 2: low fat chicken soup with nuts
meal 3: one chicken breast with mashed potatoes(small portion)
meal 4: low fat fruit yogurts or cottage cheese
Meal 5: chicken or fish with lots of vegetables.
Things not to do :
1. Do not eat carbohydrates (rice, pasta, pitta, potatoes etc) in your dinner. But you can eat during day time but only whole wheat.
2. No sugary drinks- replace them with juices like orange, apple - not mango
3. No chocolates or sugary food- replace the craving with yogurts with chocolate or fruit onez.
I am helping you out because at this age there was no body to tell me the exact way to loose weight and so i struggled till i was 20. But in the last year i learned slot and lost all the extra weight and now m fit n healthy. Dun want some body else to loose all their teenage in this struggle. best of luck sweetie and work hard.
