About 5 weeks ago while excercising and stretching on an excercise ball, I experienced a sharp stabbing pain in the middle of my chest that went straight through to my upper back between my shoulder blades. The pain took my breath away. The next couple of days I had a tightness and pressure in my chest. I noticed that every time I took a deep breath in, I got chest pain and felt like my lungs were aching. By the end of the week I could not stop inhaling these deep breaths. They overtook me and with each one my whole chest cavity hurt. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, I went to my primary. She ran all kinds of blood tests and an EKG. It showed a slight variation so I was sent to a cardiologist. Had a chest x-ray and stress test. Both came back normal. I was told it was probably some kind of muscular injury, asthma or anxiety. Then I went to my chiropractor who is treating me for some kind of injury to my ribs(I think) just by my symptoms and without any kind of x-ray. I am tired of doctors and feeling frustrated. I know this is not in my head and I know my body. If it is some type of injury, what does it have to do with my breathing and why can't I control this uncontrollable urge to inhale like I'm out of breath? The pain is gone for the most part now.
