Q: My Tooth Hurts Bad!

I had a root canal done about 4-5 weeks ago on my upper bicuspid.... i pretty much lost the whole tooth and the pain that i came in with,( the cold sharp throbbing pain) is stillt there even after the permanent crown is on... Am I missing something, the dentist told me that it was normal but I should not have the same cool pain but it should go away and its not... seems to be worse... Should I be concerned of an infection and if so what are the symptoms to identify one....

Thanks in advance

You need to call whoever did your root canal, and tell them what you are experiencing. Sometimes certain teeth can have extra accessory canals that are very hard to see. If this is the case, they will have to drill through your new crown and retreat your root canal. They can fill the center of the crown back. Sometimes the dentist will have another crown re done for free if you are unhappy with the esthetics.
