I've had this problem for years...but it's really starting to get on my nerves, especially since I don't know what's causing it.
From time to time, I get this weird feeling in the upper corner of my left eye. It's like a bubbling or maybe a twitching feeling. It's kinda like someone is jabbing their finger into my eye a few times, just for an instant. Then a few seconds might pass without anything happening, then it comes back again. I can even see a distortion in my field of vision, as if my eyeball were bulging outward slightly in that area, and if I hold my finger up to my closed eyelid, I can feel it twitching. The effect persists for a few minutes, maybe even an hour or so, and usually comes back a while later, too.
I've heard other people describe a 'heartbeat' in their eyeball, but this doesn't feel like a heartbeat at all. It's totally arrythmic. I tried describing all this to a doctor, and she had no idea what I was talking about until I said the word 'heartbeat' at which point she dismissed it as a simple stress symptom. But I'm still unconvinced that it's the same thing. I'd never think to describe this feeling as a heartbeat...My heart obviously doesn't beat three times, then stop for five seconds, then beat ten times in rapid succession, etc. So I'm thinking that something else entirely is going on.
If it's relevant, I've also had eye floaters in this same eyeball for as long as I can remember. They are also annoying. Anyone know what the hell is going on with my eye? And when I can get a cloned/artificial replacement?
