When I was 8, I was diagnosed with hypoglycemia (now they tell me pre-diabetic?), put on a special diet etc. At 19, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and no longer have a thyroid. My endocrinologist said there was a possibility that the two were related or that maybe I had thyroid problems all along (I was very sick and did not really understand what he was saying)?
Anyway, I have to have a full metabolic panel done annually after my scan. Blood sugar levels always come up low. I am not surprised, they always have.
(Except once during pregnancy, which I still don't understand...) I guess what I am asking is how do the two things interact? What is my metabolism doing? I'm pretty sure I was supposed to ask my primary care doc all of this, but I don't get the opportunity to see her much.
