If Jesus did exist, do you think he was a good honest man?

i think jesus was just a schizophrenic who beleived his mother(also a schizo) when she told him he was the son of god (what better explanation could she give her husband for a suposed virgin to give birth to a child that isn't her husbands) seriously if a man was to walk to streets today claiming to be jesus son of god we would phone the men in white coats for him why what makes him any less jesus son of god than some guy suffering the same mental illness hundreds of years ago.

I disagree. If I seen a man touch someone confined to a wheelchair and the person rose and walked, or if he commanded a dead man to rise and he did....i would listen. You see thats the difference. He practiced what he preached. He said he was God and he proved it. Proof is in the pudding. A

Well I think that's my point: I don't feel that if there actually was 1 Jesus, that he actually thought he was the son of God or any of that stuff. Ever seen Life of Brian? Same deal... I think Jesus had good ideas and the "fans" got carried away.

so let me get this right you saw a dead man rise when commanded and you saw a man confined to a wheelchair get up and walk at the touch of another man ?
there is no proof that any of the said miracles ever physicaly happend what have you a diary of a schizophrenic that has been changed and modified over hundreds of years.

Hey milletics, I can't edit your post from here due to new board editing things bla bla bla, but I've taken a step to hopefully get it changed.

Do you think he said any of the things that where past down. Or did people just made them up?

Yes, if Jesus was one person and not an amalgamation of concepts, then yes I do believe he said things very similar to what is written in the bible. Just like Buddha said things that were recorded, just like Ghandi and Martin Luther King Jr.

ok.. then if you think he is a honest man and the things written in the bible where things he said. You wouldn't think he was a liar, Right? Then is it safe to say when he told us who he was, and that nobody gets to the father except through him, and his father has a home for us, and he would rise in three days, and on and on with everything else he said. Is it all not true?

Because I don't think a man that's reputation has been pasted down with only good things would say anything to mislead us! or deceive us. If so he wouldn’t be a honest man would he?
What do you think?

Yes, I suppose if I'd seen or had some reputable proof that these things happened I'd believe to.

milletics, there are no reliable sources proving Jesus' existence. Why do you still believe? Do you believe in King Arthur? The Egyptian God Horus? What makes the story of Jesus more believeable than these?

No. Just because some of the things written in the bible may be his word, there is no excuse to assume ALL of the words written in his name are actually his. That is a leap of faith, not a leap of knowledge.

HE didn't. Enthusiastic and zealous followers did. I firmly believe the clearest answer is the falsifying, extension, and expansion of the Jesus mythos was due to his followers and NOT his own wishes.
