I CAN tell you that, because you will have to. You'll see on that day, and I'm sure you'll be begging for his mercy. But, don't believe it if you don't wanna, but I tried to tell you...

If you do not have any proof ASIDE from the Bible that God exists and that humans have to face him when they die, then stop espousing it as fact. As any good scientist knows, one source is not good enough. Hundreds of reputable sources are required before a theory becomes accepted, and then thousands of experiments are needed before it becomes a fact.

Wait a minute here.
You are offended if someone says "you are going to hell"?
But why?
I thought you didnt believe in God and since u dont then u cant believe in hell. So if I say "you better come to God or you're going to hell"; you shouldnt be angered by it.

Just like your religeon is evolution; if you tell me that my great great great great great grandmother was a monkey; I would just laugh.

I hope that he does.
He can bring you back to life and take away your pain. Possibly give you a different existence, a different body I mean.
It would be crappy if he didn't.

Either that or I hope that we go onto a perfect world after this one.

Very true!!! Scientists do not promote a theory or fact unless they truly believe there is truth behind it.

Well, this is getting out of hand.

Annnyyyways...

The burden of proving Jesus' existence is on those who believe it, and wish others to believe it as well. I don't have to prove he didn't exist. That is what the burden of proof is about.

Just like I would have to prove the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, or the unicorn, or Horus the Sun God if I wanted someone to believe it. If I wrote a book on a unicorn, and espoused it's truth, wouldn't you need other sources on unicorns to believe they are true? Wouldn't you prefer those sources came from people who not only weren't ardent believers, but also not ardent disbelievers as well? Observers, so to speak.

Meblonde, I don't need a photograph to prove he existed. I need primary sources from unbiased authors. So far all I've got it "you've got to have faith" or "I was raised that way" and then people get all defensive about it. If it's so glaring obvious he lives or lived, then why is it so dang hard to prove it to me? I'm willing to listen, but everyone gets all persnickity. I need more than "take my word for it" because that's not how I live my life.

Birch: have you heard of the Sudarium of Oviedo? I'm not sure if that's what you meant by physical evidence or not. It's a debated artifact, so just a heads up about that. But I wanted to throw it out there, since you asked for physical proof.

Hey thanks Aya, I appreciate the info. I have heard of it, but I don't know much about it. Is that like the Shroud of Turin?

I'll look more into it.

I know there are artifacts out there-heck, I've seen an exhibition with a piece of the "True cross" in it, and I've seen the cloth Mary wore at the birth, but all those artifacts are historically debated.

For some reason, it reminds me of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The whole thing does.

My point about the picture is.. there are no pictures of others that existed. Yet we believe.. How do we know they did? It is only by words that they existed being pasted down no proof. So why it it Jesus could not have existed like they did?

Yeah, it goes hand in hand with the Shroud of Turin. I believe it was laid on top of the shroud. The blood types from both are a match. There's debate about whether the shroud itself was from the time of Jesus - some say that carbon dating has placed the shroud as being from the Middle Ages, and others say that the sample they took was from a patch, which was patched during the Middle Ages.

Anyway, I believe the Sudarium has been dated to 7th AD. Or was it BC? One of those, I forget.

scientists are only normal people just like us. Just because they have a degree in science does not make them know any more about Jesus' day than us.
