No one on this thread has proven the existence of Jesus.

I have seen Bible scripture quoted, I have heard that someone believes because they were raised that way, I have read that "you have to have faith".

If Jesus existed, surely it's easier to prove than "you just have to believe it?"

And c'mon everyone, let's not get in a tizzy and keep on tract.

I'm looking for physical evidence that Jesus existed.

Anyone?

*crickets*

Anyone at all?
The Bible and the scriptures in it is all the physical evidence we need.

im not going to believe some book that some crackhead could have written or some wierd psyco on an acid trip
So what about it makes you think that some crazy person wrote it? And, what if you are wrong? Did you ever think that there might be a slight chance of that?

You refuse huh? You mean like the fable of evolution in our schools
Yeah thats not preached about.

Education of something that science is proving and the discussion of something a non-scientific text espouses is rather different. On that note, I actually have no problem with BOTH Evolution and Intelligent Design being taught in schools. Well, actually, the only issue with intelligent design is the fact that it is rooted in ONE religion, a religion that NOT everyone believes. THAT is why it is wrong to teach in schools. A Public School is not a discussion board for Christian ideas. Teach Intelligent Design in all the Catholic schools you want.

We're sick of seeing you on street corners, messing with traffic, and yelling on our college campuses. Do you see Jewish or Buddhist or Muslim people doing that? No you don't, that's because those people have MANNERS. They don't shove pamphlets in people's faces as they walk down the street, and they don't block people from entering porn shops or women's clinics for pap smears and birth control. Christians do.

you mean like your gay parades? You speak of lies.
womens clinics for pap smears and bc? BS you meant for not a nice act.

Hm, there is a large difference between a parade that is sanctioned by a city and approved through proper paperwork etc, and random people who don't have permission, just standing around screaming about hellfire. Gay pride parades do not spread hate or anger. They are about freedom and the right to love whoever they want. Gay pride parades do not threaten straight people "Become gay or God will send you to hell!!" That sounds rather preposterous, doesn't it?

Then stop shoving your humanist secularism down our throats.

Humanist whatsacallit? I'm Buddhist actually, though you never would have known it if I hadn't told you. That's because I know my spirituality has nothing to do with a scientific debate, which is why I find it annoying when religion gets brought up in the Abortion Debate forum.

We dont. It only seems that way because you have completely rejected God. So that any mention of his name angers you. Rebellion.

Ahahah XD God didn't reject me. I haven't rejected Him. Do I, as a human with a functioning brain, find it natural to question his existence? Yes. I was raised to question everything, and that - to me - includes god.

As I have said many, many times... I don't hate christianity or god. I hate a specific kind of people, who are often christian, who always talk about their religion as if it is the answer to everything. I also dislike when my Ex does this. He's buddhist, and I find HIM just as annoying as YOU.

Maybe you shouldn't debate if everything is SOOO annoying to you. Is there anything that isn't annoying to you?...Man! Do you think that we just make that up about going to hell if you don't know Him? NO!!!! IT"S IN THE BIBLE!!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!! ARGUE IT , ARGUE IT, ARGUE IT ALL YOU WANT. LIKE I SAID BEFORE, JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT, IS NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE FACT THAT IT'S TRUE!!!!!!

Whoah, relax dude. Or dudette. Not sure what gender you are...
Anyway...

I would be extremely happy to debate religion on a religious debate forum.

There is no proof that all of the Bible is true. There are obviously facts in there, but just because Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer mentions real places and real people doesn't mean that ALL of it is true, since it's clearly not.

I do believe the existence of coccaine was technologically impossible at that time, though South American cultures were cultivating to cocoa plant and giving themselves enemas with it!

Say alcohol if you mean alcohol, you silly girl. Alcohol and crack/acid are two entirely different things.

Provide proof that they were on crack, please. And as an antidote to your obvious ignorance to the subject, crack cocaine comes from opium, which was popular in China around the 17th and 18th centuries. Long after the bible was written, by the way.

Think before you type. You'll save a bit of dignity.

Whoops again. Crack is a form of heroin, which is an opiate. So yes, I was correct. Laughing

Well, wherever crack cocaine came from, it didn't exist in the biblical middle east, aye?

However they did have plenty of other drugs to mess up their minds, so they certainly could have been high.

They definitely weren't taking crack while writing the Bible. Laughing As to other influences they were under, I can't be certain one way or another. It's possible. Wink

*sigh*

Heroin and cocaine are different. Heroin comes from opium (poppy) and cocaine comes from the cocoa plant.

They're different.
