Q: Will It Come Back?

Hi, I've been taking birth control pills (Errin) for about 6 months now, the first time I took one of the pills late (an hour or two late), I got my period the next day (even tho I already had my period that month). About two weeks ago I took some pills later than the hour I normally take them (2 or 3 hours) and had unprotected sex. Now my period hasn't arrived, I'm about to take the last pill for this month, and I still haven't had my period.

1. Am I pregnant?
2. Should I stop taking the pills to see if my period comes back?
3. Is there a possibility that I'm just skipping a period?
4. If the pill makes the cervical mucus thicker, making it harder for sperm to reach and fertilize the egg... did the mucus leave in just 2 hours?!

Please answer me asap.

Hey there,

I'd suggest a pregancy test though I don't think you really have a lot to worry about.

You could take a test but you a probably just skipping a period. It happens sometimes no matter what bc your on. There are some out there that will take your period away completely. But to make yourself feel better take a test and take your pills like your supposed to. Good luck!! Smile

Sometimes if you're even a little late (not late enough to compromise your protection) you might get some bleeding. I'm sure that's what happened. Just being 2 hours late isn't enough to make you get pregnant- even if you bled.

Keep taking the pills, and if your period doesn't come, you can take a test- but I don't think you have anything to worry about either.

Holy cow!

Yes, this is way normal. You had like a hormone binge when you took so many birth control pills in such short amount of time. Do not do that again ok?

Your periods are going to be a little crazy for a few months. Take a pregnancy test, just in case, and then continue on and take your pills as normal if the test comes up negative.

Next time, just start a new pack during your placebo week. That's how you correctly skip a period. But understand that its not perfect and you could still experience some spotting during your period week and even later on in the month-- so plan accordingly! But usually it works well when you've been on the pill for awhile or have tried it before.
