scheduled for bartholin gland removal surgery on wendesday. given my age (50) my doctor doesn't want the cyst i have to abcess, burst, grow back - so she's taking it out (gulp).

question: my boyfriend wants to drive me back up to his lake house for recovery, but it's a four hour drive! i'll be under general plus full of pain killers. am i crazy to do this? and what can i do to speed my recovery? sitz baths? i've heard the first two days are really pretty painful and tender....will i even be able to lie on the bed and watch tv??

thanks ladies - you give me strength!
