My mother was diagnosed with having small seizures. She was prescribed carbatrol 300mg to be taken 2x a day. This has been for 2.5 years. What are the long term effects of this medication and what is it actually supposed to do for her. Her situation has not changed. Confused

See Your Doc
If you haven't already, you need to talk to your doctor right away. I have no idea what the long term effects of this med are, but if whatever she's on isn't contorlling her seizures, your doctor should be made aware of this. Good luck!
