Q: Spreading of Mollusca

Hello!
While at the gynocologist today, I asked about some tiny bumps on my skin near my vagina. I originally noticed the first one some months ago and, at closer look after shaving, there are several more in the area. He said they're probably hair folicles, but could be Mollusca, which goes away on its own. Either way, he told me it's nothing to worry about. What I am wondering, though, is if I should be concerned about spreading this to other parts of my body or to my partner (his hands/mouth/genitals during sexual contact)? Can mollusca transmit to the mouth area during oral sex? (What are the possibilities of transmission) I don't want it to go to areas that are visible in public or cause a nussance for my partner!!
I really like online forums because you get an array of opinions and experience!
Thank you all for your help!!!

Yes, it is spreadable, but completely harmless.

Thanks! Yeah, I did similar research (It was a new term to me yesterday! I first thought of animals that you find on the seashore: mollusks. My doctor seemed to regret even mentioning the possibilty because I started asking questions about it. -Eventhough he said it's nothing to worry about, I still want to know what it is, where it comes from, etc.- I wish doctors weren't against patients being informed. I sure like to be informed about my body!). I guess I'm mainly concerned about the possibility of giving it to my boyfriend. But, with that, wouldn't he have already gotten it? Smile I think I worry too much. Smile

I think your boyfriend could definitely get it... It said it was spreadable amongst children so I assume the same is true for adults.

I am very sorry your doctor acted like that...
