I Was a Month Late ... should I Still Start My Pills ?
Posted: 08-01-07 01:03am

So I was a month late, and when I finally did start it was really dark. I asked my mom about it, and she said it was cuz it was old ( I guess there's really no other way to say it). I started taking my pills anyway (Lutera) but I'm kinda wondering if I should have or not since it was so different this time, cuz I only bled for like 2 days, and it never got even a little heavy like usual, and I'm still feeling bloated and moody, with occasional cramps.
I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant...I took 4 tests (yes, 4) that said I'm not, so I have no idea what's wrong with me. Can anyone help?

Will this be the first time you've taken the pills? Or did you stop and start them again?

If you were on them before, and then stopped, that could cause your period to be weird. And it might take a couples months of the pill for your period to regulate, anyway.

If you period was just late, that could be from lots of things. Stress, eating patterns, just being young.... whatever.

Either way, go ahead and start taking the pills. It won't hurt anything. It will only help to regulate your period. But don't be surprised if your period still isn't regular right away, like I said, it might take a few months to adjust to the pills.
