Q: Small pink-red bumps around pubic hair
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 31st, 2007
I have about 30-50 small pink-red bumps around where my pubic hair grows. They are all about 1-3 mm in diameter. They are solid, with no white in the middle. Most of them are light pink and can barely be seen. There is one halfway down the shaft of my penis which is dark red. There are a couple of red bumps around the area too (my lower stomach, my right thigh, I've even had one near my nipple before). The doctor assures me they are inflamed hairs, but I don't believe him, it's very second rate service I get.

It is very difficult to diagnose a skin condition without seeing it. Red bumps in the pubic region can indicate skin inflammation. To be sure about the cause (infection, irritation or allergy) you can consult a dermatologist for a visual and/or specific diagnostic examinations.
