Just wondering if anyone has experienced their periods stopping after being on the pill? Im definately not preg but ive heard this can happen. Been to the doc and he has said to just wait another month or so and see if it was a one off. Anyone else get little or no periods?

Yes, when I started the birth control pill I was 16, and my period disappeared for about the first 3 months. I got my period but then it disappeared again for a couple of months. It took about 12 months for my period to find it's balance, after that it was great. Don't know what your situation is but that was my experience with it. Hope it helps.

Good luck

Thanks for the relpy.
Ive actually been on the pill for a year and my periods usually come on the 3rd day of not taking my pill no worries, just this month and last month I hardly got anything. Ive taken numerous preg tests and been to the docs and he seems to think I just need to change pills cause the brand im on can stop periods sometimes. Just dont know what to think Smile

Yeah, sometimes when your body doesn't react the right way to a certain pill, your periods will stop. Sometimes it is perfectly safe as long as you do not have any bad side effects, but if it bothers you, then just switch pills. Some people have problems such as yours on the pills with all one hormonal level in them. If this is the case, ask your doctor if you can start a pill that has the three different levels. Let us know what happens!

Hotasfrick, thanks for the advice. Im going to wait till my next period is supposed to come and then I will ask to be put on a different pill. What is the pill with different levels of hormones? How are they different from the regular kind, I havent actually heard of them.

All of the pills that have different colors every week are the ones with different hormonal levels. Like triphasil and ortho tricyclen(sp) there are quite a few of them out there. I have been on those the whole time, until now. The pills that are all one color(except for the last week) are the ones that all have the same hormonal level. Ask your doctor about it and she/he could explain much better. Hope this makes sense!
