My Fiance's first siezure was when he was six year old. He's 42 now. By the time he was 14 he was seeing a new doctor who started prescribing him Depikote. Neither he or his mother were ever warned of the life threatening side effect of this drug - Pancreatitis. With each new visit, and seizure activity never really changing, this same doctor continued to prescribe him more & More & MORE Dipikote. Finally, 3 years ago, he was hospitilized after he heard his gut crack. Now with pancreatitis and only half a pancreas left, he lived at the hospital to suffer massive withdrawl from the various pain medication he was then addicted to. That is just a mere fraction of the story. Needless to say, he hasn't touched Depikote since. Instead, he must take enzymes every time he eats, or he could be in big trouble. My question is:
Are there any epileptics out there who now has pancreatitis due to too much Depikote or any other anticonvulsant?
