Bactrim- Sulfametoxazole and trimethoprim
are both antibiotics that treat different
types of bacterial infections- urinary
tract infections, bronchitis, ear's
infections, traveller's diarrhea. Bactrim
is in the pregnancy category C because it
is not known if Bactrim will harm an
unborn baby. This medication affects the
folic acid in the body which is necessary
for the normal development of the baby.
Therefore a doctor should be consulted if
a pregnant woman intends to take Bactrim.
