I have a small growth a little bigger than a pencil eraser on my forehead. It is like a volcano shape sticking out with a crater in the center. Sometimes it bleeds. Does this sound like skin cancer? If so I have read about freezing them off. Can you freeze these off with those freeze away wart kits? I am a broke college student with no health insurance so I need a solution I can afford and get this thing off of my face. Thanks

growth on my forehead
I have the same symptoms as the beachlifeguard. I was a Physical Education teacher for 32 years and didn't wear a hat and burnt regularly.
Now I too have a little growth, a bit bigger than a pencil eraser, volcano shaped with a crater in the middle, that sometimes bleeds. Any ideas what it might be and should I get to a doctor? Thanks

Well I went to a dermatologist and after the biopsy came back I found out it was basil cell carcinoma. The cut it out and stitched everything back together. I had 24 stitches...12 under the skin and 12 on the outer layer that were visible. It was done about 3 months ago and now I have a nasty looking scar but I guess it is better than leaving it alone and it spreading to my brain. I'm going back in next Thursday to have 3 more spots removed. Hopefully someday they will all be gone.

I wear sunblock everyday now...no matter how long or short I may be out in the sun. Sunblock is much cheaper than the $1,200 I paid to have the first spot removed...Now I have insurance and am getting the rest taken care of.

Get that checked and removed ASAP..if left alone it spreads to whatever organ is behind the location of the growth..in my case it would have been my brain.

Good luck. Too bad I can't post pictures on here...I have a few from during the "operation"
