Q: Abuse While Sleeping

has anyone experienced this or done this I just recently found out that last week while sleeping wth my girlfriend I started to choke her and be very verbally abusive and need to know what I can do to change this and help out my situation as I am nothing like that and never have been and to my knowledge never while I was sleeping either is there any hope for me I think she is considering breaking up with me over it even though I am looking for help and contacted a psychologist please help

wow. . i've never heard of this before.I'm not sure that there is anything you can do to change her mind on that. You can go get help anyhow because if you do break up you might have a repeat episode with a new gal. Maybe you have surpressed anger or something?

yeah either way I am going to get help as I dont want this to occur again I already told her until I am fixed that I didnt want to her to stay with me as I dont want to hurt her but today she told me she didnt want to be with me anymore so I am still getting help thank you melissa I wish there was more info on this but so far noone has any idea why I am doing this

I have heard about things like that. As most people who took highschool psychology can tell you dreams are your minds way of trying to work out a problem. This could have been caused by a fight, perhaps you were just left not knowing what to do, and while you were sleeping your subconcious just acted. It could also be as simple as suppressed anger.
Good luck with getting hep, and i hope that you are able to figure out whats going wrong.

See a sleep disorder specialist ASAP. There is a sleep disorder that causes this sort of behavior. Ask your family doctor for a referral. God Bless you.
