Q: Genital Herpes

Can genital herpes spread if you kiss someone who has it? After you kiss this person--or make out with them really--can you spread it to someone else who doesn't have it by giving them oral?

Many thanks.

If the person has genital herpies you can not get that from just kissing. You CAN get it from giving the person oral sex, or having unprotected sex with them. Even a slight chance you can get it too with protected sex. Not all BC is 100%. I don't have a lot of information on herpies of the mouth, but i know it's possible, and think it's a totally different strain of virus. ( i think)

Yes, that I knew, but there are a few bits I'm not sure of. I'll restate my question and add a new one for clarity.

Say there are three people, one has herpes, two don't. If one person who -doesn't- have it kisses someone who -does-, and then the person who -doesn't- have it gives oral to the other person who -doesn't- have it; will the person receiving oral get genital herpes?

Another question. Can the person who does have herpes give oral to people who don't?

I do know though that herpes of the mouth is very very common, and is a different yet similar virus to genital herpes.

if they have genital herpes then NO you cant get it by kissing
however lets say one person has genital herpes and then another person who doesnt have it gives them oral...
then the person who gave oral goes and gives oral or kisses another non infected person then yes it can be transmitted

however genital herpes cannot be transmitted from kissing someone with genital herpes UNLESS they have oral herpes as well

Um. Yeah, but the person with genital herpes won't be the one receiving oral. They'll just be the one kissing other people on the mouth. Ugh. I feel like you missed my question too.. but sorry if I'm just not reading your answer right.

Are you saying that if someone has both types of herpes then genital herpes can be transmitted by kissing alone? Hrm.

Ok, thanks, I see now. Last question. Can someone with genital herpes give oral without giving the virus? I understand now you can get it through giving oral to someone who has it.

Sounds like some big orgy to me Embarassed Wink But can i ask a more serious question. I don't know whos with who, but if you are one of those whos why would you be messing with someone with herpies? I wouldn't even want to take that risk. Question

Well, there's a lot you can do without genitals at all that's still fun and intament. Many people have genital herpes too (Between 1:4 to 1:5 if the data I got was right).

I'm not going to let someone's condition make them less of a person or less of someone I like; I just might be more careful.

I understand what you are saying, but unless i'm going to be with that person for the rest of my life i wouldn't put myself at risk of getting it. Everyone is different, and i hope the best for ya.

Yeah, you have a good point. I'm not too worried that things will go that far, but at least I have a better understanding and know I can at least make out. I just had other questions, too, out of curiosity.
