Hi!
Survival rates always depends on treatment
that was used for lung cancer and what
kind of treatment will be performed
depends on the spread of a cancer, the
type of lung cancer, where in the lung the
cancer is, the size of the cancer and
patient general health.
Some patients in 3 stage can still have
surgery, but your sister in low has spread
cancer(cancer cell invaded the chest wall
and diaphragm) and i think she can't be
treated with operation. Patients who
undergo surgery have 30% 5 years life
expectancy.
She'll be probably treated with
radiotherapy and chemotherapy and the
rates ranges 7-17%. If she has only
radiotherapy her chances fall to 5-10%.
