Im 15 my dad has had pancreaic cancer for about a year and a half
he was doing pretty well for a while but now the cancer spread a lot and we're all very worried.

He is in the hospital now because:
-there was fluid buildup in his abdomen,
-when he eats the food won't move past his stomach (so he hasnt eaten real food in over a week... They finally put him on an iv)
-he is very very weak and can barely walk
-he has an infection in his blood or the fluid buildup and is running a fever on and off
and he is in unbelievable pain

they think the chemo has stopped working.

Please can anyone tell me if some of dads symptoms are common, or anything please I just want to know if my dad will come home or not.

Has your dad had surgery for his cancer? I wish I had an answer for you because my husband has pancreatic cancer. He had the surgery in august of 2003, he was doing well up until feb of this year. Now he is starting with the pain all the time.
I have been told that this type of cancer is very painful.
I know it is very hard for you to watch your dad suffer from his disease.
You will be forced to grow strong emotionally and in your faith, whatever it is. It is so hard to watch someone we love have such a dreadful disease.
I wish I could tell you your dad will come home, but that is something no one but the doctors could advise you.
Please take care of yourself and trust that whatever is best for your dad is what will happen, and that you will be strong enough to handle whatever that happens to be.
You and your dad will be in my thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time.
Thank you for sharing your dad's symptoms, this will let me know what to expect.

Thanks for your reply.
My husband is having a great deal of pain now, too.
We will see the doctor wed. Lets keep in touch.
I care about your situation.
Will write later, am waiting for the doctor's office to call us back.
God bless you and your family.
