Hello, I have an issue that I desperately need addressed

I have bouts of extreme itching on my scalp, parts of my neck, and the shoulders and upper back (When I first begin working out or exercising, when I exert such as times when I need to lift something heavy, or when I blush or become embarrassed). This is a very debilitating condition because the itching that occurs is extremely intense. At times, the itching gets so bad that I feel that I need to gauge my finger nails into my scalp or skin or that I need to pull my hair out

I am a 21 year old, healthy, Asian Male. I have allergies and I take Zyrtec and Singular to control them. I eat a normal diet, drink lots of water, and I try not to consume too many snack foods or greasy foods. I get regular exercise and about 6-8 hours of sleep nightly

I have gone to many doctors about this problem and none of them seem to be able to diagnose me. They tell me that they have seen patients that have had extreme itching but that none of those cases have been similar to mine where the itching is exclusively in my head, neck, shoulders, and upper back. I have been to an allergist and had an allergy test done. They told me I was very allergic to dust might feces and mildly allergic to a type of grass

Please, I really desperately want to stop this condition. If anybody could help diagnose me so that I could find some way to treat this condition and find relief, I would be eternally grateful

Thank you

If you ever find out what it is, let me know. I have the same thing and it IS debilitating! Except mine is not limited to one area, it feels like it's my entire body. I've tried switching shampoo, soap, laundry detergent...everything to the most basic, skin-sensitive variety, and nothing.

Itching
My husband came into the kitchen complaining of extreme itching of the neck and head - 10 minutes later he expired. Doctors said it was an allergic reaction.??.....strange.

*sigh*
I have the same, EXACT problem.
15 year old healthy teenager here, though. And it happens throughout my whole body sometimes...

When I went to the clinic, the doctor told me to try Reactine, and I find it helps me cope with it. It does not eliminate the problem, but the reactions are generally shorter and less intense.

itching of upper torso
my itching of head, back and shoulders has returned after an absence of twenty years since my first child was born. I used to take a daily dose of something I can't remember the name of and this worked perfectly. I just wish I could recall the name so I could continue this successful medication. I am going crazy with the constant irritation.

I too have extreme itching of the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper back. I have had it for a year and a half. I have seen several dermatologists, have had 2 scalp biopsies, several prescription medicines, both oral and topical, still no relief. The only time the itching stops is when I get myself mentally absorbed in something I am doing which points to a possible anxiety cause since the itching is worse when I worry, am embarrassed,or bored. I read somewhere that diabetes may cause this condition, so maybe I should get tested for it again. I have been seeing a psychiatrist on a regular basis for the past 8 years for and ongoing depression, anxiety, night terrors problem. I will let everyone know if the exact cause is found or if I get relief from something that hasn't yet been tried on me.
