Laughing Yes - what were we debating about ... Scientists etc ...
Well .... I think it's a good thing ... yeah there are crazy people ou there like Lex Luther, that want to Rule the World .. but then, where are they ..... Superman has sent them to the end of the Universe ....
Seriously tho - the good things invented and discovered has wey out weighed the bad and distructive ... just look around you .. in your house, what you drive, what you wear, what you drink eat...music ....
There is a laser called StarWars that could be used as a weapon, but it is there for a reason, to blast asteriods and meteors into smaller 'chunks' that could in the future cause a threat to this planet ... you've seen the film Amageddon ... (Bruce Willis is fit ... sorry off topic again) ...

Animal Testing

Both - I dont agree with animal testing, however, scientist have to experiment to find cures and medicine for diseases and illnessess.
This has helped mankind ......
Suzy - you wear make up on your face and eyes ... do you think that these aren't tested to make sure you don't go blind, or react badly to the chemicals in make up.
Science has also evolved mankind, if we didnt evolved, we would still be sitting in caves !
Nuclear power is clean - it's the distructiveness of people that use it as a weapon.....
again .. yes ... we make weapons, but if we were sat in caves, and not evolved at all, the weapon used will still kill, it just means that it's a primative rock on a stick !!

Animal testing is an interesting conundrum.

We test on animals because they are so unlike human beings - they can't speak, they can't think on the same level, no self awareness, they are biologically not human beings...

So, why do we test things on creatures so unlike human beings?

it depends on which animals you mean. there are animals who are self aware. we don't know what level of thinking they do. they do have some language, just not as sophisticated as our own. they certainly can feel pain and do suffer. the reason we do it is because we can. we have power over them and we feel we are superior and that human needs and wants are more important than animal welfare. same reason we eat them. it's not pretty or nice but i think that's what it boils down to. humans suck! lol. You'll be very surprised then.

Gunnie pigs are very similar to humans in the way that their immune system works, so they are preferred for testing with medicines and infectious diseases. Pigs overall are the closest to humans cardiovascularly (I believe).

I think rats behave most like us in regards to cancers...

This is yet more proof of the similarity of all life on earth, which stems from the precabrian extinction billions of years ago which wiped out 99% of life on earth. This is an extinction long before the dinosaurs by the way. It not only supports evolution, it supports the age of our planet being older than 6,000 years, lmao XD
