Q: Bleeding While On the Pill?

My doctor switched me to a different birth control pill last week and I only started taking it this past Monday. I was alright Monday although I have had a busting headache every afternoon so far this week and had nausea and vomitting the past 3 mornings within half an hour of taking my birth control pills. I started bleeding yesterday afternoon and though perhaps that it's breakthrough bleeding because I'm switching my pill, but now it's quite heavy and I have quite bad period cramps. I'm booked in to see my doctor first thing tomorrow morning. My doctor has refered me to a gyneacologist, I'm seeing him in about 2 weeks - my doctor seems to think I have endometriosis. Could this bleeding while I'm on the pill and even though I'm on the pill and every thing like periods, bleeding and hormones being out of whack be caused by endometriosis or is it just that my body doesn't like any birth control pills...?

I'm definitely NOT pregnant, have had a pregnancy test probably 5 times in the last few weeks and have not had sex in probably 5 weeks as I've been having bleeding between periods, thrush and pain with intercourse... which my doctor says could all be signs and symptoms of endometriosis? Is this true? I'm 26 tomorrow and do not have any kids yet. My Mum had endo too and had a hysterectomy at age 31.

Well, anytime you switch birth control pills you can expect to have some wierd bleeding. It can take up to three months for your body to adjust to the new pill. What pill were you on before and what were you switched to?

Bleeding On the Pill
Hi, I was on Loette for the past 3 months and have also had on and off bleeding (especially over the last 3-4 weeks) that's why my doctor has changed my pill from Loette to Microgynon. I saw my doctor again this morning and he ran a urine test and I have to see him again next week. If the bleeding doesn't stop he will have to do a papsmear to check for infections etc. He is still thinking that it might be endometriosis - he said that with endometriosis you can have bleeding while on the pill (in some cases)... I'm seeing a gyno in 2 weeks and hopefully all will be revealed then.

Hi all, i am on the pill and have been bleeding everyday for over a month!! I'm seeing my doctor this afternoon. I recently saw a gyno coz i was bleeding after sex and between periods and i had some blood quaterized from inside me on the neck of the womb. This stopped the painful sex and bleeding after but imstill bleeding on the pill. When i had the injection i had no bleeding for 3 months but it does make you gain a few pounds. I also have a thyroid problem and this canmake you bleed irregularly.
Hope this helps and hope you all get sorted!!!!
