You should be fine. Keep the area clean
and dry. Apply a non-stick bandage (no
cotton balls, I've learned that from
expereince - ow!) to the area if you feel
you need extra protection from your socks,
along with Neosporin to kill bacteria.
Rinse gently with water when you shower.
Don't leave it submerged for long periods
of time in water. Wear sandals if you can
to keep fresh air around the wound and
promote healing.
As for paintball... I would suggest
staying off your toe for a week at least,
and not doing anything rough where you
might stub it.
