Q: Can lip injury cause a sore throat or blood in semen ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 25th, 2007
Recently on a night out I was confronted by a girl, the girl in question was either intoxicated or drugged up, she kissed me, however she bit my lip, as a result it bled, a few days later I have noticed blood in my seamen and have developed a sore throat, are these in any way interlinked? and if so should a go seek medical advice from my GP?

It doesn’t seem likely that a lip injury is somehow connected with the blood in the sperm and sore throat. A sore throat usually indicates some type pf infection but a simple kiss and a lip wound can’t cause throat infections. Deep (French) kissing, however, can cause throat infection. Blood in the sperm can indicate a genital-urinary infection and should be checked by a urologist. In sum, it doesn't seem likely that you can get a genital or urinary infection by kissing or lip bite.
