I'd probably have to get a little more philosophic than you might expect. I mostly miss what TMJ made me miss in my life for more than two decades. I missed enjoying the times with my nieces, nephews and friends because I was in so much pain. My memories are stained with TMJ. Evil or Very Mad I also miss playing my bassoon in an orchestra.

But I've also gained in my faith of God!

God bless...

Miss Most
Corn on the cob fresh and piping hot with butter and salt. Being able to make those little neatly eaten rows.

Eating anything that is taller than the size of my pinky. (Hamburgers)

Eating BBQ ribs straight off the bone.

Leading a normal life.

Having energy to enjoy my family after working all day.

So many things one little joint has changed.

Re: Miss Most
I try to think about the good things that have come out of this, I would go crazy otherwise. I have lost about 25 pounds, the TMJ diet is good for that, LOL. I gave up trying to work and now I am a housewife, and that is fun. I have read so many good books, when i am in pain ( most of the time!) I rest and read A LOT. I spend more time with my family and on hobbies. I can't really complain about that!

Yeah Cindy and the job probably contributed to the TMJ greatly, from being stressed out!

I have been a TMD sufferer for a very long time... I guess all I can say is I miss the days when I was a little boy where everything was normal and nothing bothered me. I am willing to start everything again... But don't misunderstand, I have no regrets. Though I am unsure (since during that time I never took notice of my joint), but my constant tiredness due to my annoying jaw may have in someway took alot of fun out of my Highschool days (though I loved highschool and had lotta fun it was the best time ever). I also believe that my concentration, intelligence and patience were impaired too to a certain extent since I am constantly feeling uncomfortable from my clinching mouthing. I am a very energetic person with an open mind so people won't be able to spot, but TMD has haunted me for very long time especially ever since I started working and attending university when it is starting not only to become painful, but also destroying my facial appearance. I study Veterinary Science but I am also an Artist. I believe when my jaw is healed I will acquire a huge sudden boost in each of these fields or in general anything I want to do Smile But truly, I wished that I had dealt with this problem bit more sooner

TMJ has caused me a lot of problems. It has, I fell, permanetly damaged my relationship with my parents because they were the ones helping me to pay for the care. They don't believe the problem is real and think I have psychological problems. My life is more and more just becoming a living hell and I actually got braces which has made the problem a lot worse and the doctor told me it would make it better and now I have to figure out how to get them off.. so well I guess I should get back to dealing with everything

I miss reading and education. I spent over 10 hours a day reading science books hoping oneday to work in biology or contribute meaningfully to somthing. I realized with the pain like this (2-3 years) I'll never be able to go to university like a normal person. (despite the fact its hard to think that way because my pain comes and goes and I still think of myself as normal)

Even now, my reading has decreased, its just agonizing and hard to concentrate.

Punch them in the mouth and see how inclined they are to say its psychological when they develope it.

I'm just kidding, but, that must be annoying.
