Just recently I had a eye exam with eyewear and a optician was showing me how to put on my contacts. we both had washed are hands and than he got called out the room he was I say a older white man around in his fifties but he was showing me how to put on my contacts he was handling my contacts with his bare hands and handing them to me to put them in my eye is this unsafe could I catch hiv from this incident and are they suppose to do that I am scared now I thought that it was unprofessional. my eyes are feeling ok though I am just worried.

I mean I am not that worry actually I am fine I just have a phobia and I was thinking that it was unprofessional this is my first time getting contact lens so I didn't know what to think I was thinking does he do this to everybody that comes in.

no, you need an exchange of a quantity of bodily fluids to contract hiv.

Hmm. I actually do not remember if my eye doctor touched my contacts or not...

You're right that it might look a little unprofessional, but I do not think it is anything to worry about in terms of HIV or anything else.
