Adrenal Fatigue And Hypothyroid Posted: 07-24-07 01:26am
Hi all
I am concerned about my sister-in-law's
health. Several years ago she was
diagnosed with hyothyroidism. She started
on Synthroid but did not tolerate it well
and is now taking Armour. Some of her
symptoms improved (her lab work comes back
normal) but she has extreme fatigue,
temors, depression, headaches, high
cholestral, heartburn, dry hair, brown
patches on face, ringing in ears, very
poor memory and craves sweets. She is
unable to work (is on disability)and
sleeps more than she's awake. She is on
multiple heavy-duty medications (a total
of 11) including Valtrex. I believe she is
overmedicated and some of her symptoms may
be side effects but I also think that she
may have Adrenal Fatigue. How do you think
I should approach her? She is quite
passive about medical care and not very
open to new ideas. She has had a long
history of poor eating habits. She is 52
yrs. old. She does not smoke or drink
alcohol.
I have many symptoms and blood tests
confirm my T3 is 80 but my TSH is normal.
I am suffering with daily swollen neck,
cold fingers and arms and incredible
fatigue and I have trouble breathing. I
have an appointment with an
Endocrinologist in April, but I feel that
I have so much swelling in my neck that it
is impossible to wait that long. Does
anyone have any recommendations to help
me? I do not smoke, or drink alcohol or
do any kind of drugs, I am about 5 lbs
overweight and I am a weight watcher and
eat extremely healthy food. Can anyone
give me any advice. I did add iodine to
my diet and my neck remains swollen. I am
59 years old and last year my doctor took
me off Hormone Replacement Therapy as she
was afraid that it causes breast cancer.
