Q: Cold Feet And Shins

Hi,
My husband has been suffering with really cold feet and shins for a couple of years yet to me they do not feel cold at all. He is now wearing double bedsocks and using those microwaveable slippers! The doc said that it may well be due to a trapped nerve in his lower back and recommended massage. I'm not sure about where or how as I thought it could be dangerous to massage around the spinal cord?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
