Im 19 years old and Ive had my period for about 4 years. It was never regular. I would sometimes have it for a few months straight or skip a month here and there, but this year my cycle has been crazy. I had it in Feb. then skipped march april and may got it in June (which it was like every other period Ive had- 7 days normal bleeding, cramps, but not too severe) and now no sign of it in July. I also get cramps like Im getting my period but I dont get it. And vary rarely Ill discharge clear/white, its kind of liquidy/stringy, and its A LOT. I should also mention Im not sexually active. Im skinny: about 5'7 and weigh about 100 lbs, i have a hard time gaining weight, but so did my mother and sister around this time in their lives. Very worried, please help.

You can talk to an ob-gyn this about. You could try the birth control pill. That helps to regulate periods and reduce cramps.

Your weight is low due to your height, so that can affect your period.

Yeah, you need to maintain a certain body fat percentage for your period to come regularly. Birth control would help, but I would suggest seeing a dr. because you're 19 anyway and it's a good time to start getting an annual Smile

Some people are just like that too, my period runs on like a 35 day cycle when I'm not on the pill, have you ever kept track of it to see if there is a pattern? Or you could just be irregular.

Thats what my mom figured that Im just so skinny my periods messed up.
I do keep atrack of it with my calendar and its just so irregular.
What scares me most about the missed periods is the cramping I get when I dont have it. Is this normal?
I had it like in the beginning of the month and now its nearly August and I still dont have it. It just makes no sense to me...

It probably is because of your weight. According to simple body mass calculations, your bmi is around 15. Under 18 is considered underweight, and also the percentage where your period usually becomes irregular.

That doesn't necessarily mean that you are unhealthy, but it might mean that your body has a hard time maintaining your reproductive system. It's usually the first thing to start going haywire. Have you seen a doc about your weight? It might be a good idea to go and get checked out, at least go get your first annual and make sure to mention to the gyno that your periods are so irregular.

Irregular periods can be a symptom of other reproductive issues too, like pcos. So you should get checked out.
