Q: Can genital warts caused by HPV also cause warts on other pa
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 22nd, 2007
My former boyfriend, who it turns out, had multiple partners, insists there is nothing wrong with him, his other girl friend or his wife who just got back her lab results with regard to a pregnancy. He says there can be nothing wrong with me.

However, I saw my lab results for the first pap smear which was done some weeks ago. It stated: A typical squamous cells of undertermined significance. I have done a lot of research and have found that my original doctor gave me correct information that the type that I had showed HPV which is the dangerous type which can lead to cervical dysplasia and even cervical cancer.

A problem that I have been having is a real aching in my vagina, even throbbing. But, it is a physical thing that is there. It espeically is sore and painful after orgasm.

Now, I have found some warts on the back of my legs, right below the knees. Can genital warts caused by HPV also cause warts on other parts of the body?

I want to get to the bottom of this.

All warts that appear on the skin or mycoses are caused by the Human papiloma virus (HPV). Some types of HPV are susceptible for causing genital warts and some other serotypes (16 and 18) are oncogenic (can cause dysplasions and cancer).
