About 1 1/2 months ago my Mom went to dermatologist for a dark spot on her face (just under eye) and the doctor removed it (and never sent to lab to check). About 3 weeks later the spot was back but it looked worse than before, she was on vacation so went to the ER because she thought it was infected, they gave her antibiotics and sent her on her way. When she came home she went back to her doctor & she was like OMG this needs to be removed ASAP, if it would have looked like this before I would have thought you had cancer. Needless to say my mom went to another doctor and he removed/tested it same day. It came back basel cell carcinoma. My mom says that her cheek bone underneath has been hurting for about 4 wks and getting worse. I'm so afraid that it's gone into her bone.. Cancer of all kinds run rampant in our family and I'm terrified for her. If it has gone to her bone what is the survival rate & how much would they have to cut out? This doctor also can't get her into surgery for over a month...
