My 76 year old aunt experienced an intracerebral hemorrhage feb. 14th. By the 4th day after the stroke, she started to experience extreme nausea and vomiting. Because of inflammation in the esophogas area, the doctors inserted a stomach tube and attempted 3 feedings. All failed.
She is nauseated 24/7. Does anyone have any suggestions....We are desperate as she is dwindling away.

Hi,

an ic bleed would not cause ongoing nausea unless intracerebral pressure was elevated - I assume this is not the case as it would have been treated at the start.

Has she been seen by a gastroenterologist? - I suspect she either has a separate gasstrointestinal problem or some of her medications are causing the problem - either way they should be able to resolve the problem
