Hi I had been on the depo for about 2-3 years about five years ago. I resumed it recently my first shot at the end of March 2007 after which I started having slight brownish spotting which lasted for about a week, 3 weeks away from my second dose. The clinician said that they could give me the next dose earlier than required.. So I did that in the first week of June. I was ok with no bleeding for about a month and then I started the brownish spotting again which lasted for about 5 days and then suddenly I started with a heavier flow like a normal period and this has been going on for 2 weeks now. What could be the cause of this? Could I be going thru Menopause as my mum went thru it at my age. I never had this irregularity the last time I was on the shot for 3 years.

The shot is known to make people have strange bleeding. So that is a possibility. I don't really know anything about menopause, but I guess that could be, too.
