Q: Lou Gehrig Disease Symptoms ?

What are the most common symptoms for Lou Gehrig Disease?
I've heard that the average lifespan for someone with ALS is 3-5 years after diagnosis, though about 10% live beyond 10 years. Additionally, everyone who is diagnosed with ALS has his or her own quality of life and experience, because there is no order about which muscles begin to be affected when.

Most common symptoms appear in the upper body at first. One with ALS will experience dysphagia and trouble with speech. As the disease progresses, the symptoms will spread to other parts of the body.

I am unsure if all or most people with ALS experience this, but I have noticed first-hand that they can have an outburst of emotions. Uncontrollable crying or laughing.
