Is it possible, at all, to get pregnant after having your tubes tied? I need an expert opinion on this. Thanx

Re: Pregnancy
Im not an expert, but I know the answer to this question.. Lol .. Yes, you can get pregnant if you have had your tubes tied. They can easily come untied. If you have had them tied and burnt, then you wont get pregnant. But if they are only tied, then you can.

Pregnancy
I have had them tied and, well they said, cut. This would be my 7th child, if I were pregnant. Since I had my tubes tied, about 14 months ago, I haven't missed a beat with my period. Comes on time, every time, every month. Except for this month. I am now 4 days late. What should I do???

well, I have to say that i've suddenly become something of an expert on the topic. I had a tubal ligation just about four years ago after my son was born via c-section. I had the type of tubal where the tubes are cut and cauterized (electrocoagulation). I did not have the type of tubal where they are just clamped, clipped or rubber banded. My tubes were cut and burned and my husband stood there watching the whole procedure. I am currently 8.5 weeks pregnant. Imagine my complete shock! The concern at first was that I had an ectopic pregnancy. However, I had an ultrasound last week that confirmed I have a completely normal pregnancy - I even got to see and hear the heart beat.

So, yes, it is definitely possible - no matter what type of tubal ligation was performed. It's rare, but it does happen.
