I have a six year old son .It was a normal delivery. I had 2 abortions one in 2001 and another in 2002. My blood group is AB Rh -ve. I had taken injections after both abortions due to Rh-ve. Last year Aug2006 I was pregnant again. Dr. gave me Progesterone along with folic acid to support the pregnancy. Everything was normal and on my 8th week when I went for normal checkup,I was told that there was no heartbeat and I had to get a DNC done. I was again given an injection for RH-ve. Now I was 5 weks pregnant. I had all symtoms of pregnancy. I went to a doctor as early as 1st week and he could not see the it in the scan as it was too early. The blood test confirmed I was pregnant . Yesterday I noticed some spotting and immediately went to the doctor . He did a vaginal scan and said it was a false pregnancy as he could not see anything. I have now started bleeding off and on. I am devastated. I asked the doctor and he could not give me any reason for this. Please help me.Please explain

According to your description (positive blood pregnancy test, spotting and negative ultrasound scan in the fifth week of pregnancy) it seems that you probably were pregnant and that pregnancy ended with an early miscarriage. It's not clear whether the pregnancy was an intra-uterine pregnancy (normal) or extra-uterine because the doctor couldn’t locate the gestational sack in the uterus. A positive pregnancy test without an ultrasound confirmation is very possibly an extra-uterine pregnancy. Uterine curettage can prove or exclude uterine pregnancy. But even if you did experience an extra-uterine pregnancy, it seems that it ended in the healthiest possible way-with a spontaneous abortion.
