Sudden Vision Problems In One Eye Posted: 03-11-04 00:04am
For the past week vision is severely
distorted in one eye. I also have had
sparatic numbness in my arms that I
assumed was a pinched nerve because I am
always sitting and typing. I went to an
optometrist yesterday who said they found
nothing wrong with my eye health. He
also dialated my eyes to thoroughly check
them. The problem is that it was done 23
hours ago....And they are still dialated.
My father suffered from a stroke in his
30's , his father died of a stroke at 62,
and I am 32.
Am I stressing over nothing???

Sudden Loss of Vision In Ine Eye Posted: 03-13-04 02:16am
Ms chavarry: I myself had just posted a
msg like yours and did not receive any
reply. Please let say you are not alone.
I recently had my second
heart cath. Forty eight hours later I
experienced about an 80% loss of vision
in my left eye. My cath Dr. And my eye
Dr. Blaimed it on cateracts. This
was proven not to be the cause. It seems
that I had a tia. I just had a mri/
mra scan and then had a ultrasound scan of
my carroted arteries. I am
heading for an open heart bi-pass. Since
many blockages were found.
I believe you had a tia (mini stroke). My
vision did not improve yet. I wish
you the best of health. I am 77 yrs old.
You are still young, and will recover
from your vision loss if you are
determined..................Edithnbud

I also have the same problem, and have
been experiencing it since I was 15. I
am now 22 and get the numbness that seems
to travel down my left side. I went to
the hospital in may, spent 6 days, and
they found nothing. I had to ct-scans, 2
mris, and 2 eeg's. I have a feeling my
problem is linked to malnutrician (sp?)
because I fail to eat a lot, and when I
do, I seem not to have the problem.
Maybe we could talk about this, and
possibly link something.

Jennifer:
thank you for responding to my letter. I
am very sorry to hear that from
the age of 15 to now 22 that you have had
this problem. The only one that
can explain it would be your Dr. I just
had a ultrasound of my carroted
arteries and a mri/mra brain scan in the
last 3 days. We didnt get the results
of either yet. Both of these procedures
were done to determine if I did have
a tia (mini stroke) your symptoms are
lasting far to long. You are a young
girl and you must persue it and demand an
answer from your Dr. I wish
you luck in finding out what is causing
your discomfort..................Bud

Thank you bud! I hope that it is nothing
serious, but I will persue this as soon as
I get insurance, and hopefully that is
sooner than later. I am acually 21 (the
previous post was a typo) but I will be 22
on may 31. As of the past couple weeks
the numbness in my tongue has increased
and it is on the left side in the far
back. I hope to find out soon!
Bud and jennifer:
thank you both for responding to my plea
for help. I am still having the same
symptoms and one of my eyes don't seem to
want to sync with the other eye (lazy
eye). I have not been able to see a
specialist yet. However, the eye today is
not as bad as it was two weeks ago. The
one thing that I have done differently is
to put me first and not worry about
everything around me. I have really been
focusing on de-stressing. I am not
malnutritioned, but had been really sick
to my stomache and wasn't holding anything
down. I don't know if it is related
jennifer, but you are more than welcome to
email me.
Keep me in your prayers and I will keep
both of you in my prayers. You are
wonderful.

hear from either of you
mentioning parental or anyone giving you
active or financial support ? At this
time you both need this. And both of you
should not be going through this on
your own. Please get help you are both
in my prayers and I know that
your problems will be solved

Hey, bud! I've been feeling really good
lately, no probs *crossing fingers*.
Good luck with your surgery, I will be
praying for you, I hope to see 54 yrs with
my hubby, we are coming up on 5 (june 15).
As far as parental help financially, my
mom doesn't have that much money either
and I shouldn't expect her too, i've been
married and have 3 children of my own.
Good luck, hun!

Dear jen and lynn:
just a quicky to thank you both for my big
day tomorrow> it is a little
ironic that this will be my first
operation in my life so far.. So
naturally it
has to be a big one. I have so much love
and prayers from my children. My
grandchildren (7) and all of my
friends(including you two) how can it go
wrong?
This pc will be shut down in 10 min for
about 7 days. I will e mail you guys
when I get back !.............I appologise
presuming that you needed help
from your parents . I know how it is
financially. My 3 kids have the same
problems, and many times being retired we
cant help them. We should all
win the lottery !!. You two gals sound
great.........God bless bud
