Q: My Son Has Stopped Taking the Bottle At 11 Months

Help! My son, who has taken a bottle of formula in the evening since he was 2 months old, has suddenly stopped taking the bottle all together. It is a very stressful situation as I simply do not have the milk production to give him what he needs in the evening. He gets very upset at not getting enough out of the boob. My doctor thinks he may have developed thrush and has just put him on oral drops. Has anyone else had this experience? If so, do you think he will start taking the bottle again after the thrush has cleared? He still takes the boob no problem. Any advice out there?

I would think since he's already 11 months, it would soon be time to wean him from a bottle anyways. Does he take a sippy cup? If so try giving it to him with that. Try to look at the positive side, maybe it will be easier to wean him. At a year doctors usually want them on whole milk. Does he eat a lot of table foods yet? If he does I wouldn't be too concerned about not getting that last bit of formula. Keep us updated.
