Hi all,
First off, I know there is always a chance of pregnancy when on a birthcontrol pill, that is why my boyfriend and I usually use a condom with the bc pill.

Having said that, i recently changed birth controls to be able to get it cheaper at college. I had started my new pack and had been on it for 12 or so days when my boy friend and i had sex w/out a condom and he did his business inside me. Is there less of a chance of the new birthcontrol working b/c i had been on it for almost 2 weeks? I am supposed to start my period tommorow (tuesday the 16th, well thats what it was on my old bc) Can my period start differently on a new birthcontrol as well? any input from any of you would be great! Thanks

Extremely eHealthy
You have been on it for 12 days, and you need only 7 days for it to be effective, so it is okay.

You most likely will get your period when this new pack has the placebo pills. The hormones control your cycle.

sara- did u have a break between your old pill and the new pill??? because if you did, just so you know, and i know my gyno has told me, that do not depend on the pill the first month to protect against pregancy. but this was also with a 3 month break in the pill. you might want to contact your gyno regarding this..it takes the pill a full pack to be effective. so if u had a break i would use a condom for the first month of the new pill

No, I did not take a break inbetween the pills, I went from the old stuff right to the new stuff, so it must have been just as effective.

I did start my period on time so everything is great. Thanks for all your help everyone
