Q: Fertile Days?

Hi there!
I'm wondering if anybody here knows what the chances are of becoming pregnant while you're not necessarily "most fertile". I'm always reading those ovulation calculators that tell you when your most fertile times of the month are, and I know it's POSSIBLE to get pregnant outside of that span, but I'm curious as to if it's even worth trying when you're not you're most fertile. Thanks so much in advance for any thoughts! Very Happy

The ovulation calculators are tough, because they figure you have a 28 day cycle. Most women have different cycles and have other factors that can cause them to ovulate at different times or not at all. I have pcos, so I can ovulate anywhere from cycle day 10-30. I use ovulation predictor kits so I know if I am ovulating and they help me to track my days so I know when to do a pregnancy test and such. Alot of women on here temp and that seems like a great way to track ovulation. I would say if you are not doing any of those things, than you should dtd all the time because you just never know. I wouldn't rely on the calculators. I have found also, that dtd just because your fertile and no other time, can put a strain on the relationship. I never tell my dh what cd it is or say we "have to" or don't have to. It would take all the fun out of it.

Sometimes its tough to get my dh in the mood during the fertile time, but I do tell him about it. It makes it less spontaneous, but we try to enjoy ourselves anyway.

Outside of the fertile time, we don't worry about our timing. We just have fun when we feel like it.
