First thing is that if you feel as if you could be pregnant go to the store and buy a at home pregnancy test. They are not always accurate, but it may put your mind at ease. I really didn't know that I would find about my Mirena concerns...my stomach is sensitive to the touch as it was when I was pregnant with my son. I really hope its gas, except that I don't have any...haha lovely. Well I guess if this doesn't change I'll go to the store. Arg. Goodluck ladies.

Hello. Just wondering what everyone thinks of the iud. I have had mine for about 7 months and am currently expriencing pregnancy symptoms for the 2nd time. Its been about a week since I should have had my period and I have taken 2 hpt and both were negative. Any advice?

Oh my gosh, I am having the same "hot flash" episodes as the original poster... On June 30th I had an hcg level of 22 and July 6th it was 25. Yesterday it was 140 so my OBGYN sent me to get methotrexate. I just got home from the hospital and read this post after searching "mirena failure". I can't explain these fevers. I have one, like once a week with incredible fatigue and convulsions that leave me sore the next day from head to toe. So weird. Anyone else?

well i think i also may be preggo! I've only had Mirena for 6 months, and i've been having bladder infections, tired, tender breast, very hormnal and quite moody. For like the longest time after it was in place i kept bleeding. Not heavy like on a normal period, but spotting. Dr. says thats normal. Well now i bleed like 3 times a month, then i go for a few weeks without anything. My strings are in place i check them frequently, but now when my husband and i have sex its very uncomfortable, just like it was with my first pregancy. Man i totally am NOT ready for another kid. And my personal opinion is Mirena SUX cuz it always keeps you wondering!!!!

hi all, my name is christelle i had mirena inserted in 07 since then everythings has been ok. for the past 3 days i have been feeling really tired,irritated, my period came to early and it wasn't the same as usual. i have tightening in my stomach, i get light headed and i can't seem to eat anything. i am terrified because i think i might be pregnant. i took a pregnancy test yesterday but it came back negative... i don't no what's causing these symptoms can someone please help me?

I had a baby end of january and at her 4month injections i got the Mirena implanted (so painful!!!), had regular periods past couple of times but last one was well overdue and black blood!!!!!!! had sex after it had finishd and i swear ever since im constantly sick, very tired and on the loo A LOT! I took a hpt with a negative and got doc to do a test wit a negative also! Done urine test to rule out kidney/bladder infec and got all clear. Still didnt explain the constant sick feelin and peeing non stop.... I feel exactly the same as i did while pregnant with my daughter but aparently not pregnant.... could test been done to early maybe???

I have had the mirena for a lil' over 3 yrs now and have been having wierd cravings and a brownish disscharge. I had my period then it ended and now I just have that disscharge...yucky. I am going to the dr, but just wanted to see if I could get a quick reply.

I have had every symptom of pregnancy that I had with my 1 yr old and 4 yr old. I have taken several home pregnancy tests. All have been negative. I'm wondering if something is kinda off on them because I have been feeling some movement. Going to the doctor in a week. Thinking maybe the IUD was put in wrong, going to a different ob/gyn.

I used to use the ring and with that form of bc my period was regular to the day/hr sometimes and very light lasting only 3 days. This is my first period with the mirena and it has been lengthy, painful, and heavy. is that normal?

Can a pregnancy test be wrong. It was the slightest lightest light blue line ever... If you didn.t study it close you wouldn't see it.. I have had mirena for a two year now and have unbearable pain, aniety and depression and now cysts on my ovaries not to mention weight gain... I have an appointment tomorrow.. I hope they tell me no... I already have three children and am a single mom... Anyone have any advice?

I've been using the Mirena for the past 10 months. What I thought was my last period ended up being very light spotting for like the past 3-4 weeks. I didn't spot with my first pregnancy, but I know that it can happen. I am exhausted, I have heartburn, I feel bloated. I swear I feel movement. I don't have insurance or money so I can't get a pregnancy test done. Is it really possible? Is there anything else that would cause these symptoms?

Any local health clinic or planned parent hood will take u free. They all do free testing for pregnancy. U can get on state medical coupons as well.
I was on mirena for 3 yrs. thought I was pregnant once but no. nothing is fool proof. I had it removed 4 months ago trying now. Hopefully I'm now will test this week sometime. Good luck to all. let me know how everyone is doing!!!

how much weight gain in normal with the mirena?

I was never told I could gain weight on mirena. So not to sure just exercise and eat healthy. I know easier said than done. I 'v got weight to loose myself. Not easy!!!! Good luck!!

Ok well the pregnancy test came out negative but I've heard that sometimes it doesn't register with the pee test and you have to take a blood test.... is that true? I got blood taken but I won't find out the results for a week. This is the only thing that could explain the movement I've been feeling right???? God, I hate waiting....

Well ive got mirena and i went to my doctor today because i've been feeling all the pregnancy symtoms and i seriously feel like crap. my doctor said that ne one who is on mirena and says they are pregnant or got pregnant while having it. that they are all lying,,,,,,would that mean that possibly being pregnant is in my head?? bc i remember being told that the estrogen level can give a false neg. on a pregnancy test...any thoughts?

This is one of the last sites I have been to on the subject, now I kinda wish I had started here. I have had a Merina for about 3 years now but about a month ago things started to feel weird. I had a like a heavy period which is sooooo not normal for me since I have been on this, I barely spot. Then I notice I was actually having food cravings & yet being turned off from some of my favorite foods. I haven't wanted 2 smoke, something I do regularly. I've been having increasingly vivid dreams & been very tired. My face is breaking out, the only time I break out is when I'm pregnant I didn't even break out in high school. And my breast have been sore for at least 3 wks. I have not had a period since I had the heavy bleeding a month ago, which is odd 4 me, it might be very light but I always have a regular pd. So tomorrow I am going to take a pregnancy test however tonight I was doin a little research on tha subject. It seemed as I read this website most ppl's opinion was that it was VERY VERY unlikely that you could become pregnant w/ an IUD so I wanted to pass on some information.

hi my name is chasity im 21 with two kids and althoguh i want only one more i dont want one right now. im young and studying to become a nurse. i think im pregnant and im on mirena i know when im pregnant its just an instinct i cant explain but im sooo scared to take a test i havent had not one pregnancy since i got mireana put in last year besides the little bit of bleeding that was common after the first few weeks.
im scared b/c i know that if i am its probally tubal and 100 percent pro life and it will break me if i have to abort this baby if i am pregnant to save my life. that will be very tough b/c i always have a connection with my children the moment i find out im pregnant. im not a chritian thats not why im prolife i dunno im just scared, if i am pregnant and misscarry due to my selfishness of using birth control i will freak out. what are the chances?
