Q: non stop pains in the neck and fast growth

I was 5'4 at age 13 (this is 13 years ago now). In 3 weeks I grew exactly 10 inches to 6'2. (I remember making the marks for my height with dates on the wall, I had to show people that didn't see me alot for them to believe it. No one that didn't see me everyday believed I grew that fast)
First question is, isn't it uncommon to grow that fast and that much in that time? i've always wanted someone to answer this but back then the internet wasn't so involved and I have not thought about using it to ask this till now lol.
When it was happening I remember lying in bed for hours from back pain mostly, screaming pain, for 2 weeks. A little pain in the knees too but not much. I have stretch marks to this day on my back from it, from the middle lower to the middle upper back. they're few but big marks in width and height, almost invisible now however. After the spurt, besides being extremly skinny til I filled out, health wise I had no pain or problems.

thats the first question.

2nd, I'm getting non stop pains in the neck. It may be from being on computers at work sitting all day. But it doesn't seem to go away over the weekend when I'm all over the place. When I wake up my neck cracks enough times with one left to right bend to impress a japanese firework manufacturer, although that seems to relieve my neck and doesn't hurt. Recently the pain has extended from my neck to my jawline when I turn my head. I was wondering what could be happening here. And what I could do to help stop it now that it is spreading.

And to connect the 2 questions to a 3rd.
Can these two things be related at all? The neck pains have been here for years but not til 5 6 years after my spurt.

And what the heck, I might as well ask a 4th question. (off topic but the last of my rare medical questions that has happened to me in life)
In boot camp for the Navy the tear gas didn't effect me at all.
At first I held my breath trying to act like I was breathing but I was called out on it and forced to breath, first threw my nose..... no effects (while watching everyone around me cough and throw up). Then I started breathing threw my mouth, still no effect, not even my eyes watered. I've heard this has happened before but also a very rare occurance that I never had answered in detail. If anyone can give info on this too please do Very Happy.

Your neck pain is probably a combination of the growth spurt and too much computer use. Two days on the weekend really isn't enough time to recover so that's why it still hurts. It is indeed unusual to grow that much but it has probably happened before. You mentioning the stretch marks is actually what made me believe you.

As for the tear gas, hey, some people are immune to odd things!
